Courses/ ISM Code training
ISM Code was adopted by IMO Resolution A.741 (18) and became mandatory via Chapter IX of SOLAS. ISM Code makes shipping companies work out and implement Safety Management System the integrated part of which is the competent ship and shore personnel. Makarov Training Centre is the only centre in Russia which effects ISM-code training for specialists engaged in SMS implementation, maintenance and control of their operation in compliance with ISM Code requirements.
The following courses are suggested:
The course for training for internal SMS auditors (for managers and shore personnel of the shipping companies)
The programme of the course includes:
- basic principles of Quality Management
- basic requirements of international Conventions, Standards, Regulations concerning safety at sea
- ISM Code
- Procedures of internal SMS audit
- Procedures and instructions for planning and conducting certification in accordance with ISM Code
Course duration: 2 weeks
ISM Code training for shipboard personnel (Masters, Chief Officers, Chief Engineers, Second Engineers and persons expecting promotion for the above positions)
The training programme includes theoretical and practical problems of efficient SMS operation on board ships, such as:
- basic ISM Code principles, aims and targets
- basic requirements of international Conventions, Standards, Regulations concerning safety at sea
- SMS in emergencies and non-conformities
- Ship's SMS preparation for internal audit
- Preparation of ship's personnel for SMS presentation to Port State Control Inspection.
- Preparation and presentation of the ship's SMS for certification in compliance with ISM Code requirements
Efficiency of the course is provided by the use of computer simulator (10 working stations) which enables to imitate SMS operation including emergencies and non-conformities.
Course duration: 1 week
Training is effected by RMRS representatives, consultants of SMS design and implementation in the shipping companies, IMO experts, best lecturers of the Makarov Training Centre.
