Response Courses
The Swedish Maritime Administration signed an agreement with the Admiral
Makarov State Maritime Academy for performing courses and seminars to
train Russian oil pollution response specialists.These seminars are
designed for specialists of port administrations, Federal State Unitary
Companies "Rosmorport", EMERCOM, maritime inspections, oil terminals,
Environment Protection Administration Committees, oil transportation
companies and other organizations.Under this agreement it is planned
to conduct 20 various seminars devoted to oil pollution response preparation.
One of the courses devoted to "Oil Spillage from the vessel "Fu Shan
Hai" took place on 4-5 October, 2005 in Kaliningrad. In November, 2005
the seminar "Preventing of Oil Pollution From Ships" was conducted in
St. Petersburg. The agreement stipulates partial financing of the project
from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The total amount of financing
on the part of Sweden s more than 450 000 Euro. The project will also
allow the Academy to partly cover the costs for the participation of
representatives of state organizations.
