SSG-GOTEBORG. The master and all four officers on board the "Carine K" had forged papers. The ship has been detained in Limassol since the beginning of March by the Cypriot Maritime Administration. The surveyor claims that the papers were high quality and virtually identical to the real thing. In the future Cypriot Maritime Administration will double-check the validity of any Georgian certificate with the Georgian Maritime Administration and suggests that other port state control administrations follow the same policy. Parallel with this event, several international maritime administrations received an e-mail, which called the attention to the possibility of buying Georgian certificates for USD 500-2,500.
