Opening of the Anticrisis centre
The opening of Anticrisis centre in the framework of the 130th anniversary
of Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy celebration took place on
May 26, 2006. The solemn ceremony was attended by the head of FSUE "Morsvyazsputnik"
V.A. Bogdanov and the president of Transas Group N.U.Lebedev, who received
memorable gifts from the president of the AMSMA I.I. Kostylev, and over
80 guests, including representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations,
shipping companies, Russian sea port administrations, crewing companies,
delegates of the International Conference on Manning & Training Lloyds
List.
Established on the basis of the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy
the Anticrisis centre is unique in Russia and admitted to be one of
the major sectoral maritime training and research complexes in Europe.
The project on establishing the Anticrisis centre, estimated as $2M,
has been implemented by the AMSMA jointly with Transas Group - the world
leader in software and hardware providing safety at sea and air transport,
environment protection, and FSUE "Morsvyazsputnik" - one of the leading
organizations in maritime communication and radio navigation.
Establishment of the Anticrisis centre in the AMSMA enables the Russian
Ministry of Transport to provide simultaneously theoretical and practical
training of maritime specialists, expert and analytic studying of crisis
situations, preparation and conducting of emergency control drills,
research and experimental works intended to provide safe navigation
in Russian sea ports harbour areas, in its turn the AMSMA reaches international
level of specialized training and expert centres of developing maritime
industry.
