The newest Radar&ARPA simulator
In august 2002 MTC have organized tender for new Radar & ARPA simulator delivery.
In contrast to previous simulator, the new one suggested to be equipped by bridges with visualization system for approximate training to real conditions.
Having examined the models offered the commission of experts selected the project of simulator by "Transas Marine".
In the beginning of September the contract for simulator delivery was signed. It is supposed to be the biggest Radar & ARPA simulator complex in Russia. Modern simulator, equipped by 2 bridges with visualization systems (225 and 120 degrees) and 4 desktop bridges, will allow providing training for deck officers taking into account all types of navigational information including visual observation.
So not only on Radar & ARPA course could be provided on the simulator but Bridge Team Management and Ship Handling and others as well.
Training with the use of the simulator starts in the middle of 2003.
