The IALA Meeting at Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy
The International Association of Lighthouse Authorities Technical Work Group of the Automatic Identification System Committee held two inter-session meetings between AIS 9 and AIS 10 in order to prepare the draft documents for AIS 10.
The first was held April 2-6, 2001, Kiel, Germany.
The second meeting was held August 11 - 17, 2001 at the Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy, St. Petersburg, at the invitation of Transas.
The chair for the sessions was Mr. Jan-Hendrik Oltmann, Germany.
The main goals of the meetings were:
1. To progress the IALA Draft recommendation on the Technical Clarification on ITU-R recommendation M.1371-1. This Draft Recommendation will be presented at AIS 10 for consideration.
2. To progress the draft part 2 for the IALA Guidelines on AIS.
